Reducing the amount of ECUs leads to a less complex wiring harness

Automotive wiring harnesses are an assembly of wires that transmit power and signals to electronic control units (ECUs), actuators, and other onboard electronics. Components commonly connected to the wiring harness are control units, sensors, and actuators, including the onboard diagnostic computer, auxiliary lights, dashboard controls, and the emissions system, to name but a few.
