Company partners with the University of Michigan and Nissan Motor Company for the project

Achates power has won USD2 million in funding from the United States Department of Energy’s (DOE) Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) for the development of a highly-efficient opposed-piston (OP) engine for hybrid vehicles, the company announced in a press release on 6 March.
