OSRAM confirms receiving binding offer from Bain Capital, Carlyle Group
Offer by PE firms values the German lighting company at USD3.8 billion
OSRAM has received a binding offer from private equity firms Bain Capital and Carlyle Group to acquire the company at Euro 35 per share, the German lighting supplier said in a press release on 3 July. The takeover bid puts an equity value on OSRAM of EUR3.4 billion (USD3.8 billion). The company’s Supervisory Board will meet today (4 July) to review the offer. OSRAM’s share rose by 11.5% close to EUR32.25 on Wednesday (3 July).
