Umicore to set up USD1.2 billion battery cathode materials plant in Ontario by 2025

The plant will supply CAM and pCAM sufficient for the manufacturing of 1 million EV batteries annually

Belgian chemical company Umicore announced via press release on 13 July that it will be investing USD1.2 billion (CAD1.5 billion) to set up a cathode active material (CAM) and precursor cathode material (pCAM) manufacturing facility in Loyalist, Ontario, Canada.
