Innovative battery thermal management solutions will be required to support proliferation of ultra-fast EV charging network

Increased focus on sustainability coupled with several regulations and legislations related to stricter (zero) emission norms is paving the way for electric vehicles (EVs). Additionally, advances in battery and charging technology, along with various incentives are further bolstering the adoption of EVs worldwide. With the slow but steady demise of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, and many OEMs announcing plans to go completely electric by 2030–35, EVs will become mainstream in markets worldwide. However, two major factors that continue to hinder the rapid adoption of EVs are “range anxiety” and “charging time”. Just like ICE vehicles that can be refueled within minutes, people have similar expectations from EVs in terms of charging time and range added.
