Mercedes-Benz has teamed up with the leading cloud gaming provider Boosteroid to offer in-car gaming in its vehicles, the carmaker said in a press release on Aug. 20. The collaboration will enable Mercedes-Benz to make the Boosteroid app available as part of the MBUX Entertainment Package Plus for vehicles that are equipped with the third generation MBUX infotainment system, starting next year.

Boosteroid users can play their purchased games on almost any devices, including computers, laptops, smartphones, and smart TVs — and soon in Mercedes-Benz vehicles equipped with third generation MBUX infotainment system.

At the popular gaming event gameson, currently taking place in Cologne, Germany, visitors can experience the Boosteroid in-car gaming in a Mercedes-Benz E-Class at a booth managed by SK Gaming, which has been a renowned esports partner of Mercedes-Benz.

“Together with Boosteroid, we’re offering an even more attractive in-car gaming experience for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. The cloud-based approach to gaming is the ideal way to bring triple-A gaming to our customers and gaming fans alike. It’s a clear proof point of how we’re further developing MBUX to cater to our customers’ expectations,” said Magnus Östberg, chief software officer of Mercedes-Benz.
