EU’s industrial action plan focuses on commercial vehicle charging infrastructure, providing grid access to CPOs
The European Commission plans to focus on streamlining necessary permits, leverage financing of selected projects to de-risk investments, and make provisions for specific grid priority areas under the Renewable Energy Directive, with an aim to deliver first impact in 2025
Acknowledging that the pace of electric vehicle charging infrastructure deployment has been slow and must accelerate to meet the requirements given under the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR), a part of the Fit for 55 package, the European Commission has given a nod to launch the European Clean Transport Corridor initiative in the third quarter of 2025.
