Mainland China’s Ministry of Commerce imposed export restrictions on seven REEs and magnets used as critical materials in the automotive, energy and defense sectors

The European Association of Automotive Suppliers (Comité de Liaison Européen des Fabricants d'Equipements et de Pièces Automobiles [CLEPA]) warned that mainland China’s export restrictions on rare earth elements (REEs) and magnets have caused a severe shortage of critical materials, shuttering several assembly lines and plant operations in Europe.
