Zeekr, a premium EV unit of Geely, has introduced a new hybrid platform named SEA-S and plans to begin pre-sales of its first model based on this platform, the Zeekr 9X, which is a full-size luxury sport utility vehicle (SUV), at the end of next month.

Zeekr's SEA-S platform is described as the industry's first luxury hybrid-exclusive platform, built on a pure electric architecture and the world's first full-stack 900V high-voltage hybrid platform.

Zeekr's Super Hybrid System, based on this platform, includes tri-silicon carbide-powered motors and a CATL Freevoy hybrid battery. It was developed to offer a quiet city ride and seamless transitions to high-performance or long-distance driving.

The Zeekr 9X, the first model using the SEA-S platform, will feature three silicon carbide motors with a peak output power of 1,030 kW and a maximum horsepower of 1,400, allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds. It also includes a 2.0T engine with a peak power of 205 kW and a thermal efficiency exceeding 46%.

The electric SUV will be powered by a 70 kWh battery pack, with a CLTC pure electric range of up to 380 kilometers, claimed to be the longest among hybrid SUVs. Fully fueled and charged, the model can offer a combined range of more than 1,000 km.

Moreover, the vehicle supports fast charging, reaching from 20% to 80% in about 9 minutes, and from 10% to 80% in 10.3 minutes.
