Ascend Elements produces high-purity recycled lithium at a Georgia facility, targeting increased production and reduced emissions by 2030

Ascend Elements announced a landmark achievement in the recovery of domestic critical minerals by producing over 99% pure, recycled lithium carbonate (Li2CO3) from black mass in the US for the first time. Black mass is the material derived from used lithium-ion batteries in the recycling process. This production was achieved at Ascend Elements' battery recycling facility in Covington, Georgia, where the company demonstrated the commercial viability of lithium recovery on a large scale.
