Automakers gain two extra years to meet the new NHTSA safety rating and braking system requirements

The US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced a delay in implementing changes to its five-star safety rating program after automakers requested more time to comply, according to a report published by Reuters on Sept. 19, 2025.
