BMW dealers will replace the engine starter with a different design free of charge

BMW is recalling more than 145,000 vehicles in the US after regulators warned that a defective starter could overheat and ignite a fire, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Oct. 1.
