Gotion halts $2.4 billion EV battery facility plan in Michigan amid criticism
Gotion faces opposition and legal action, forcing suspension of Michigan plant plans amid declining US EV interest
According to a state announcement, a subsidiary of mainland Chinese battery company Gotion has decided to abandon its plans to construct a $2.4 billion facility in Michigan, US, to manufacture critical materials for electric vehicle batteries. The initiative, initially revealed in October 2022, aimed at creating 2,350 factory jobs.
