Failure to comply could lead to a reduction in safety ratings, impacting the reputation of vehicle models that rely solely on touchscreens

Euro NCAP has announced a new safety policy requiring the return of physical buttons in cars by January 2026. This change mandates that vehicle manufacturers include physical controls such as buttons, levers or switches for essential functions like turn signals, hazard lights, horn, windshield wipers and emergency call (eCall).
