Volkswagen opens its most comprehensive R&D hub outside Germany in mainland China
Together with the nearby City Test Track, Volkswagen now operates a complete design–build–test–validate cycle in Hefei, integrated with its global R&D network
Volkswagen Group China Technology Company (VCTC) has completed the final expansion of its Hefei R&D center with the opening of its first Test Workshops, giving the Group full end-to-end development capabilities in the mainland Chinese market for the first time. The new facilities bring software, hardware, and whole-vehicle validation together under one roof, speeding up decision-making, strengthening customer alignment, and accelerating the rollout of next-generation technologies.
