European Commission proposal softens 2035 ban on sale of ICE cars, now allows sale of hybrids
The proposal offers special incentives to carmakers who manufacture small, affordable electric cars in the EU region prior to 2035
The European Commission unveiled the automotive package on Dec. 16, focusing on providing flexibility for CO2 emissions of cars and vans to vehicle manufacturers, promoting affordable small electric cars, and establishing mandatory targets for corporate vehicles, as well as local development of the battery supply chain.
