OPmobility eyes Hyundai Mobis lighting business to accelerate global expansion
Proposed takeover could add more than €1 billion in annual lighting revenue and deepen access to Hyundai and Kia.
In late January, OPmobility signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hyundai Mobis to explore the potential acquisition of the South Korean supplier’s lighting business. The two companies aim to reach a definitive agreement in 2026. The acquisition promises to significantly expand OPmobility’s global position as one of the leading tier 1 suppliers of lighting systems, a business the French supplier entered just four years ago.
