The new requirement is expected to apply only to newly manufactured vehicles starting July 1, 2026

Mainland China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) plans to mandate physical control mechanisms for critical vehicle functions such as turn signals, window operation, and activation of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
