TSMC plans to start 3-nm chip mass production at Japan fab in 2028
The revised plan boosts advanced wafer capacity in Japan, building on earlier fabs focused on less advanced process technologies
TSMC is expected to begin equipment installation and mass production of 3-nanometer (nm) wafers in 2028 at its second factory in Japan, according to a Taiwanese government filing released late on March 31.
