SBTL Advanced Materials to build smart battery pouch film plant in Daejeon, South Korea

The new Pyeongchon Industrial Complex facility will boost domestic localization, expand global supply, and target next-generation battery applications including ESS, robotics and UAM

SBTL Advanced Materials plans to establish a production base for battery pouch films in Daejeon to expand capacity and enhance supply chain resilience significantly. The company said March 30 that it has signed an investment agreement with the city of Daejeon to build a plant in the Pyeongchon Industrial Complex, with construction targeted to begin in the second half of 2026.
