Fraunhofer IPA puts cell-to-pack battery recycling project in implementation phase
The consortium is developing laser-based, robot-guided processes to enable scalable recycling, repair and second-life use of highly integrated electric vehicle battery packs
At the end of March, the research project Difference has entered its implementation phase with the goal of improving the recycling rate for battery systems in which battery cells are no longer housed in modules but are integrated directly into the battery pack. Fraunhofer IPA is contributing its expertise on robot-based disassembly and is also the consortium leader.
