Forvia's Appning platform has partnered with Radioplayer to simplify how broadcasters bring their services into connected vehicles — enabling fully branded radio apps to be launched directly within car infotainment systems without the need to build or manage automotive software.

Leveraging Radioplayer’s content framework, Appning handles the full automotive deployment process, including testing, certification and distribution across more than 40 vehicle brands, ensuring compliance with original equipment manufacturer-specific technical requirements.

Bauer Media is the first broadcaster to adopt the solution, granting Appning distribution rights to manage OEM submissions, app listings and in-car deployment. Its Rayo app is among the first to be integrated using the platform.

Radioplayer’s platform enables broadcasters to package and publish their content as branded applications, while Appning ensures seamless distribution into infotainment systems across a wide range of OEMs. The result is scalable, low-complexity access to in-car audiences while maintaining full brand identity.

The solution is already live with multiple automakers. Appning is deployed across 16 global OEMs, including BMW Group, Mercedes-Benz Group, Volkswagen Group, MINI, Lotus and SAIC Motor, placing broadcaster apps directly into consumer vehicles worldwide.

As vehicles increasingly transition toward software-driven architectures, in-car entertainment is becoming app-centric. However, broadcasters have traditionally faced high costs and complexity in adapting their services for automotive environments. This partnership removes that barrier, allowing broadcasters to deploy their apps into vehicles without heavy up-front investment or ongoing technical overhead.
