Hyundai motor and Hyundai capital test separate battery ownership to cut replacement costs and assess impacts before potential rollout to individual consumers

Hyundai Motor Group has begun a pilot project for an electric vehicle battery subscription model that separates ownership of the vehicle body and the battery, with the stated aim of reshaping the cost structure of EV operation by reducing the burden of battery replacement costs.
