UNDP and Ulaanbaatar city partner to pilot solar-powered EV charging stations

The initiative will deploy solar-integrated charging, build local technical capacity, and support Mongolia’s national climate and sustainable mobility goals

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar signed a Project Document on April 15, 2026, to launch the Establishment of Solar Powered EV Charging Station in Ulaanbaatar City project, which aims to support cleaner, low-carbon urban transport in Mongolia's capital. The partnership will pilot solar-integrated electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at priority public locations across Ulaanbaatar.
