The Telecommunications Department (DoT) has proposed allocating 50 MHz of spectrum in the 5.87 GHz to 5.92 GHz range

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has initiated consultations on allocating dedicated spectrum for connected vehicle communications, a move aimed at improving road safety and reducing accidents in India, which recorded more than 170,000 road fatalities in 2023.
