Rivian explores making lidar sensors in US using mainland Chinese technology partnerships
The electric-auto maker is weighing joint ventures, expanding custom chip development and preparing R2 models with lidar as part of its self-driving strategy
Rivian Automotive is considering making its own lidar sensors and may do so in partnership with a mainland Chinese firm, CEO RJ Scaringe said in an interview with Reuters on May 5.
