NHTSA’s updated NCAP adds pass/fail tests for advanced safety features, with the 2026 Model Y satisfying criteria across four integrated systems

The US Transportation Department's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that the later-release 2026 Tesla Model Y is the first vehicle model to meet the agency's new benchmark for vehicles with advanced driver assistance systems.
