Indie Semiconductor to acquire ams OSRAM CMOS image sensor group for €40M
The deal enhances Indie’s multimodal sensing and AI-focused image sensor portfolio, targeting growth in automotive autonomy and industrial automation markets
Indie Semiconductor has signed a definitive agreement to acquire ams OSRAM's fabless CMOS image sensor group for €40 million ($47.2 million), in a transaction aimed at strengthening its automotive ADAS multimodal sensing portfolio. The carve-out, which has primary operations in Belgium and Portugal, is expected to close in the third quarter of 2026 and to be immediately accretive. The consideration consists of a €35 million ($41.3 million) cash payment at closing and a €5 million ($5.9 million) vendor debt note from ams OSRAM, with completion subject to customary regulatory approvals.
