The latest investment lifts total spending on the Tesla Berlin site’s battery cell production unit to close to €1 billion ($1.2 billion)

Tesla has announced plans to invest nearly $250 million more into battery cell production at its Grünheide facility near Berlin, significantly expanding its manufacturing footprint in Europe. The move will more than double the plant’s planned battery capacity to 18 gigawatt hours (GWh) annually and is expected to generate over 1,500 new jobs.
