The compact urban EV targets Japan’s regulated kei segment, offering a 20 kWh battery, Level 2+ driver assistance

BYD is preparing to launch its Racco electric K-Car in Japan this year. To execute the project, the Chinese carmaker has hired former Nissan engineer Hirohide Tagawa, reported Nikkei. The Racco is described as a compact electric vehicle (EV) designed specifically for Japan's tightly regulated K-Car segment, where strict limits on vehicle dimensions, output, and taxation define one of the country's most established automotive categories.
