The new SmartMCD series device integrates MCU, motor driver, LIN transceiver and power management to support advanced control of three-phase brushless DC motors in vehicles

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (Toshiba) has begun shipping engineering samples of TB9M040FTG, a motor control device with built-in power MOSFETs for three-phase brushless DC motor drives. The device is the latest addition to Toshiba's SmartMCD series of motor control devices that integrates a microcontroller (MCU) and a motor driver, can directly drive three-phase brushless DC motors, and is described as suitable for controlling small motors used in automotive equipment.
