The new S-19230/1 LDO series targets always-on ECUs with ultra-low operating current, 80V max rating, and AEC-Q100 qualification, alongside upcoming 48-volt DC-DC and monitoring ICs

Ablic is expanding its 48-volt automotive power portfolio to address microamp-level standby current in always-on electronic control units (ECUs), beginning with the S-19230/1 series of low-dropout (LDO) regulators. The transition from 12-volt to 48-volt has accelerated as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), automated driving and software-defined vehicle platforms increase electrical power demand. Using higher voltage reduces current to one-quarter at the same power level, enabling thinner wiring harnesses and lighter packaging.
