UAW workers strike at Dauch Corp’s US plant over wages and contract dispute
Nearly 1,000 union members halted production of axles for GMC Sierra and Chevrolet Silverado after negotiations with the company failed before the contract deadline.
On June 1, nearly 1,000 United Auto Workers (UAW) members went on strike at Dauch Corp.’s Three Rivers plant in Michigan after the union and the company failed to reach a new contract before the existing deal expired at midnight. UAW President Shawn Fain declared the walkout in a social media livestream at 10 p.m. May 31, two hours before the deadline, flanked by workers from the Three Rivers facility, Dauch’s largest manufacturing site in the state.
