CATL Founder and Chairman Robin Zeng said low-cost sodium-ion batteries could eventually replace 30% to 40% of the existing battery market over the long term

Sodium-ion batteries are moving closer to wider commercial use in electric vehicles and stationary storage, with CATL expecting 10,000 to 20,000 EVs to use its sodium-ion batteries in 2026.
