Mainland China imposes 2% consumption tax on lithium batteries
Lithium battery tax starts Sept. 1, 2026, and rises to 4% in 2027; solar cells face 2% from April 1, 2027
Mainland China will impose a 2% consumption tax on previously exempt lithium batteries from Sept. 1, 2026, and solar cells from 2027, the Finance Ministry said July 17.
