GKN Driveline and ZF reduce understeer on the X6

BMW unveiled the X6 at the 2008 Detroit auto show in January last year.  The carmaker described the vehicle as a Sports Activity Coupe, an SAV and coupe crossover.  The automobile comes with a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines.  For the X6, BMW developed a new 407hp V8 petrol engine, which is the first 8-cylinder petrol engine with the turbo-charger and catalytic converters positioned in the V-section, between the two rows of cylinders.   The OEM states this design helps reduce pressure losses.
