Weakened demand across all business segments

Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) posted a net loss of SAR974m (US$259.8m, 21 April 2009) in the first quarter of 2009 hinting that the company has been hit by global recession leading to weakened demand of plastics and fertilisers.
